Melissa Sulkowski is a Relationship Specialist, as well as a Professional Mediator, who has been guiding individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams since 1994. She is Board Certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors and licensed in Pennsylvania as a Registered Nurse and Professional Counselor. Melissa opened her own practice in 2001. Over the years she grew her business into a setting offering complimentary services designed to promote health, healing, and well-being, known as Nurturinse.
Melissa sold her business in 2023 and accepted a position with Penn State Behrend as the Director of the Personal Counseling center. Her interest is to have an opportunity to reach a broader audience and create generational impact through education and programming. In addition, she is shifting her business, Melissa Sulkowski, LLC, to exclusively provide virtual consultation and training to families and businesses.
Melissa has presented at various International Forums and Mediation conferences. She trains professionals on confident leadership, effective communication, and navigating differences. When providing Coaching and Mediation services, her intention is to increase awareness, while improving practices and interpersonal relationships within a system. Melissa has assisted hundreds of clients and has the necessary skills to lead them towards successfully managing conflict and reaching a durable resolution.
The International Academy of Collaborative Professionals chose Melissa as 1 of 22 professionals internationally for their “Leadership Academy” in 2013. She served on the Board of Directors for this organization from 2019-2022. Melissa was also selected as the recipient of the Athena PowerLink award in 2014. She was later published in 2018 as an expert in her industry by the American Bar Association. Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and sharing her acquired knowledge by way of writing articles and offering educational programs to fellow professionals.
